1 Million Cups Louisville – Caffeinating the Community We meet monthly to support the local startup scene. We're doing a little something new this time around. On Wednesday, September 18th at 8:00 a.m. 1 Million Cups Louisville will be hosted at the new Story Louisville Space on 900 E. Main Street. A new space doesn't mean we've changed, though. We're still caffeinated by the Kauffman Foundation and our events are still FREE! Oh, and the parking should be better this time. Making it on Main Street: Businesses Diversification & Community Change-making Downtowns are the heart of our community, and a community is only as strong as its core. It’s been said by some that a healthy downtown begets a healthy town. Main street serial entrepreneurs and changemakers, Natalia Bishop of Story Louisville, Story Labs, Level Up and Chocolate Box Photographyand Jamie Fairman of Forage and State & Arrow are bringing that truth to life! By creating the products, experiences, and spaces that meet the real and often overlooked needs in their communities, these ladies are breathing new life into neighborhoods that folks can call home. And as hard as it is to start and run a business it’s no small feat to do it multiple times AND in multiple cities! It’s even more mind-boggling to do it in the midst of the obstacles women entrepreneurs face, particularly when it comes to securing outside financing (women’s business revenue averages 40% less than men’s in the first year),all while sporting a big smile on your face and with a spring in your step.
