Google Fiber needs YOU to survive

Council meeting Thursday at 6pm

Louisville Metro Council will vote on enabling legislation that will make it possible for Google Fiber -- or any similar gigabit internet service provider -- to cut through much of the red tape necessary to install its technology in Jefferson County. There are competing political interests that are rallying to quash these council efforts, to smother Google Fiber in its crib. If this vote fails on Thursday, it could prove a disastrous setback -- or the outright end of -- Google's efforts to bring fiber to Louisville.

a.) Show the Metro Council you want Google Fiber

As such, we are asking you, to join in on Thursday for the 6pm Metro Council meeting. Be seen, be heard, and let the council know that the city's best and brightest want no regulatory obstacles to bringing Google Fiber to Louisville. Make the two-hour sacrifice (at most) to help Louisville get the internet speeds it needs to stay competitive in the 21st century. The meetings are held on the third floor of Metro Hall at 601 West Jefferson Street for 60-90 minutes. Simply showing up is effort enough; our numbers will speak for themselves.

b.) Send an Email

If you can't show up, please email your Metro Council representative:

"I support 'one touch make ready' for critical infrastructure in Metro Louisville."
