Jim James and Dave Eggers discuss creativity, innovation, and education Teach Kentucky is proud to present Jim James of My Morning Jacket and Dave Eggers – author of "The Circle" and co-founder of 826 and Voice of Witness education non-profits in a conversation around creativity, innovation, and education. *Please note that this is an 18+ event. Individuals under 18 years old will not be permitted entrance. Doors open at 5:30, program is from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Ticket Price: $30.00 + tax per person. About Jim James: Jim James is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and founding member of the psychedelic rock band My Morning Jacket. He has also produced music as a solo act under the name Yim Yames and is a member of the American supergroup, Monsters of Folk. About Dave Eggers: Dave Eggers is the author of The Circle; A Hologram for the King, which was a finalist for the 2012 National Book Award; and Your Fathers, Where are They? And theProphets, Do They Live Forever?, short-listed for the International Dublin Literary Award. He is the founder of McSweeney’s, the publishing house, and cofounder of: Voice of Witness, a series of books using oral history to illuminate human rights crises around the world. He is the cofounder of educational nonprofits 826 National and ScholarMatch, and was the 2015 Amnesty International chair. About Teach Kentucky: For 14 years Teach Kentucky, a nonprofit organization, has recruited highly qualified college graduates from across the country to launch their education careers in Louisville’s public schools. At its heart, Teach Kentucky is a talent attraction initiative to bring the best qualified young professionals to our educational system.
